Saturday, 10 April, 2010 @ 12:59PM Wow 150 links now
Richard Stevens - 2 CommentsWow we have finally reached the 150 link limit now which is amazing and a huge thank you to everyone who has submitted links.
I guess the next target to start getting excited about would be the 300 or maybe 500 link limit.
I'm sure many of you are thinking whats so big about 150 links? Well to be honest not alot, but on the other hand this is being done with no money invested into PPC or other pay per click means, this is purely white-hat SEO techniques used to climb the Google, Yahoo and Bing search engines. Link building techniques are at a minimum aswell because the time it takes to get good links into a site is a very long time and as there is only me doing this work, it is hard to find enough time. There is also no money spent in the link building technique, its all just very good link building sites and a few directories.
I would just to thank everyone again for submitting their links and i hope by doing so you have gained at least a bit more SEO presence and visitors.
Wednesday, 10 March, 2010 @ 06:33PM pageRank 2
Richard Stevens - No CommentsAs of a month or 2 ago we managed to get the homepage as a pagerank of 2 according to Googles pageRank tool.
This is a great achievement for everyone as it means this new pagerank will help promote the website in other websites, more websites are likely to want to link to us and also a higher position in Googles SERP results pages.
This is very well and good for us of course but how does it effect your links? Well, if our site links better from other peoples sites, and more people can reach us then its more publicity for your links. Also it means that our pagerank will transfer into your links going to your pages.
If you have not understood what that means then please allow me to help explain.
If our homepage has a high pagerank and your link is a paid link then it means you get a large important portion of that pagerank transferred into your linking page.
If you have a free link then it means a large portion of this pagerank is transferred onto the page that contains your free link and then a portion of that pagerank goes over onto your linking page so you can benefit from our pagerank aswell as us.
We here at TotallyLinks are constantly improving our SEO and link building tactics to get your links better seen and visible across the whole world wide web.
We soon should hopefully be getting our 3rd pagerank score and be increasing our visibility across alot more people.
Thank you very much for being a part of TotallyLinks and we hope to see more and more people using us.
Tuesday, 09 February, 2010 @ 10:51PM Apple iPhone
Richard Stevens - No CommentsFor those of you out there who are lucky enough to own an Apple iPhone, you will know and agree with me that this piece of mastership crafted beauty is by far one of the best gadgets out today!
I have owned one of Apples great iPhones for only about 3 months now and have so far had so much pleasure from it I don't think the excitment will ever stop. Amongst it's many uses and extreme applications, there is still so many normal everyday needs it can perfectly perform.
From standard phone uses and contact lists, or text messaging, this phone can also be used for Internet browsing and camera functions. That's not all though, no, this phone has the ability to turn into an iPod music system and video player!
Apple iPhones also have the built in applications and the functionality to allow the user to download more and more of these applications. There are millions of these too download and the price is very fair, from free of charge, 59p, £1.19 up to anything like £9.99. Also these applications can do so many cool things like games for hours of enjoyment, control your computer, draw pictures, gps maps, guitars, sky tv guide and record tv, find nearby restaurants or banks and so much more. I can't really even begin to cover all the types of applications out there as there are so many it truely is unbelievable.
So for those of you out there thinking about maybe getting an Apple iPhone, I would seriously and highly recommend it!
Wednesday, 30 September, 2009 @ 10:20PM Mobile Phones
Richard Stevens - 1 CommentThings take up such an integral part of our daily lives that we seldom think back as to how they came in. Many of them began as prototypes, and eccentric concepts. But only some of them went on to shape our lives, like no great war, or great depressions, could have ever done. Mobile technology has spread like forest-fire- A holy fire that consumes you only to transform you into something even more magnificent.
Speaking of mobile phones and how they've added themselves to the usual list of food, clothing and shelter, the most interesting thing is that it never was intended for the masses in the first place. In the year 1910, Lars Magnus Ericsson, who later went on to found the Ericsson mobile phone company, installed a telephone in his car, and would use it intermittently on a highway, by connecting it to the national telephone lines! Over the years, Motorola came up with some new gadgets that were free of having to be linked with telephone lines. The early man of the present-day cellular was a mobile radio that was fitted with invariable transmission - connecting to only its pair or some other frequencies. It was used in the armed forces, for message relays and espionage. Slowly and moving quite out of rhythm, mobile rigs (as they were then known) were found with cabdrivers and police cruisers, still sticking to a two-way system of relays. It wasn't connected to a common telephone network; hence, it wasn't a proper mobile phone yet. Between 1940 and 1970, happened a huge change, from the cellular becoming a weirdo's gig, to a status symbol to amassing a lot of popularity. There were networks launched in Finland, with limited areas of hassle-free conversations. These were later dubbed as the zero generation phones.
What followed was the first generation. On April 3, 1973, Motorola employee Dr. Martin Cooper placed a call to Dr. Joel S. Engel, head of research at AT&T's Bell Labs, while walking the streets of New York City talking on the first Motorola DynaTAC prototype in front of reporters. It showed that it had finally been proclaimed a public phenomenon. The second generation brought along the GSM networks. Coinciding with its occurrence, The Brick-sized phones also went out fashion, and small palm-held phones came into vogue. Then came along, the third generation, providing people with a network within a network! Data transfers and longer range of transmission were distinguishable with the 3G networks. By the end of 2007 there were 295 Million subscribers on 3G networks worldwide, which reflected 9% of the total worldwide subscriber base.
Today, when we hear the very familiar "hello moto" or the heavily popularized Nokia ring-tone few wonder that it’s like Jack and the bean-stalk. Only this time, Jack turned the bean-stalk into a network tower.

Richard Stevens - 2 CommentsImagine a world of electronics, where nothing is out of the network, where everything connects with everything, bringing out a single whole, an island standing in the middle of an ocean - completely syndicated. Now open your eyes and step down. You are on the island. And it’s called Bluetooth.
It is said, that when there arises a need, it’s followed by a consequent deed, winding up the former. Bluetooth is a product that, when it was born, challenged the existence of all the wires in the world. or maybe that is what it was driven by in the first place. Because Bluetooth is a system of wireless connectivity within a limited area, say 10 meters (though it's being stretched everyday to a newer variable). In technical jargon, it forms a Personal Area Network (PAN), that lets devices to interlink, mobile and fixed alike. Mobile phones, electrical appliances, computers, etc have all incorporated Bluetooth as a regular feature. What really makes it stand out of the crowd, is its affordability, the data transfer rates and the way it can be totally personalized, making it like molding clay. And though facing serious competition from IrDA, a pro-infrared organization, Bluetooth has still hung on to touching bases with everyone.
So when you're looking at the future of Bluetooth technology, you're looking at a major change in the way it works. A broadcast channel is on its way to the top, which allows Bluetooth information points, to be accessed. The information in these points will automatically be allowed admittance, striking out the very limited object push model that's been the trend to this day. The Quality of service is also being enhanced, thus enabling audio/video data transmission with the best of quality, especially when there's a bombarding traffic in the same fixed area. Latest devices like printer adapters, game-pads and even access points that broaden Bluetooth connectivity to Local Area Networks (LAN). The IBM are also working on a project called the Cyber-phone, that comes with an 8 MB RAM, and uses Bluetooth technology to work as a data projector, like the theaters.
But that's just how it's progressing on the technical front. When it comes to Bluetooth usage, many Bluetooth pilot products have found their places in the market, given a thumbs-up sign by the biggest of vendors. From being optional additives not a very long time ago, Bluetooth chips now come embedded as part of a multitude of equipments from manufacturers itself. It shows that technology is being accepted and the biggies like Ericsson, 3-COM, Intel, Toshiba, Nokia, Microsoft, IBM etc are ready to embrace it for the future. But it’s not restricted to just Bluetooth-enabled products and the companies that produce them. It has taken in its stride, the IT and the telecommunications industry. And the impact has been widespread. A single module of Bluetooth can now replace the swarms of connection ports and their many-eyed wires, snipping off the costs and bringing it down to an economic level. And here comes the reason why its called Bluetooth. It’s like a single gem of a tooth, replacing a set of 32. No wonder it’s called a jaw-dropping phenomenon!
